The Parador Lodge Down GAA Intermediate Football Championship (Round 1):
Tullylish 1-10 Darragh Cross 0-10
Liatroim 0-10 Rostrevor 0-13
Atticall 1-15 Aughlisnafin 0-10

Saturday’s action got underway with a contest between Atticall and Aughlisnafin which the Mourne side came out on top in by a final winning margin of 1-15 - 0-10. Largely it was the Sloan’s that did the damage for Atticall with Ryan Sloan scoring 0-09 and ‘Big’ Daniel Sloan chipping in with 1-03. Adam Garland was the top scorer for the Fin with 0-05, four coming from dead balls.

Liatroim started this game well and early on Conor McCrickard was in fine scoring form as he swung over a hat trick of early points. By half time Rostrevor had clawed their way back in and were level at six points apiece. The Fontenoys again started stronger in the second period and led by three with quarter of an hour to play but Rostrevor finished strong as Conor Doyle and Ardghal McMahon found their shooting boots to edge the Reds to a hard fought victory.

A quick start that saw 1-03 bagged in the first 8 minutes put RGU on course for victory and despite a couple of attempted rallies from An Riocht they held out for victory. A second early goal made it 2-04 - 0-04 by the midway point of the first half and with Peter Turley central to what was going well they retained a six point lead at half time in spite of An Riocht finding a route to goal. The second half followed a similar pattern and though Noel McArdle scored a second goal for An Riocht from the penalty spot, RGU always kept them at arms length and went on to win by seven points; 2-15 - 2-08.

In Kilcoo, Tullylish secured a three point win over Darragh Cross. Having gone 1-02 - 0-00 up Tullylish had their tails up for the first half and led 1-08 - 0-04 at half time. Darragh Cross battled back in the second half and closed the gap to two points with four minutes remaining but Tullylish kicked the final score to ease any threat of a comeback. On the night Reece McInearney was most prolific for Tullylish while Anton McGrattan top scored for the Darragh men.
